“ Iberia Community Band Concert December 16, 2007” NEW IBERIA , LA – The Iberia Community Band invites you to take a break from all of your Christmas preparations to attend a FREE musical celebration of the holiday season featuring three Iberia Parish performing organizations. This special Christmas music extravaganza will take place Sunday, December 16 at 3 P.M. in the Sugar Cane Festival Building in New Iberia City Park . The audience will enjoy a fun-filled afternoon, as conductor Tim Farnsworth leads the Iberia Community Band in many of your Christmas favorites. Featured numbers include “Sleigh Ride”, “The Nutcracker Suite”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and many more. Special guest performers will be the New Iberia Senior High Chorus and the First United Methodist Bell Choir, both under the direction of Judy Webb The announcer for the concert will be local television meteorologist Dave Baker who will do a special reading of “ ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” with band accompaniment. Children will be invited to participate in the reading. This concert is FREE for everyone. The audience will embark upon a fun-filled journey, as conductor Kendal Faulk leads the band in many of your travel favorites. Featured numbers include “Themes from Offenbach” with Parisian music including the Can-Can; “Children of Sanchez”, a Latin rock number by Chuck Mangioni; “Kentucky 1800” depicting folksongs of early American lore; “Korean Festival”, and many more. The special guest announcer for the concert will be local television meteorologist Dave Baker. Admission is $5.00 for adults. All children under 12 are admitted free. Advance purchase tickets can be obtained at Paul's Flower Shop in downtown New Iberia .
